At the interface of protein biophysics, peptide chemistry and biochemistry for fundamental research and innovative applications

The laboratory of Pr Steve Bourgault at the Department of Chemistry, UQÀM, is focusing on fundamental aspects of protein self-assembly into amyloid fibrils and on the molecular pharmacology and engineering of peptides.
By combining approaches from biophysics, bioorganic chemistry, biochemistry and cell biology, we are probing how the biochemical microenvironment modulates the equilibrium between folding and aggregation. Please visit our research and publications pages to learn more about our work.
We are always seeking for very motivated and brilliant undergraduate trainees, graduate students or postdoctoral associates to join our dynamic research group.
